“A Perfect Day” brings the beautiful Pohangina Valley and surrounding communities together in support of the Pohangina Village School Reserve. The Perfect Day festival was first held in 2008.

After the huge success of “A Perfect Day” launch festival last year, we are back for a second year with an event that will undoubtedly attract an even greater crowd to our beautiful Pohangina Valley.

This year we are fortunate enough to attract legendary rhythm and blues artist Midge Marsden, who’s career spans almost 50 years having played thousands of concerts to thousands of fans. His combination of excellent musicians and unstoppable energy combine to guarantee a great show. Performing live on stage we are also delighted to welcome back our longtime blues man Bullfrog Rata and the band that gets everybody to their feet Twisted, along with local support bands.



Along with a great line up of music, take time to meander around the landscaped grounds of the Pohangina reserve and enjoy the special activities and craft stalls, with plenty of food and beverages to relax and enjoy a picnic or take afternoon tea in the historic school house.

The date for your diary is Sunday 8th February 2009, 10am-5pm at the Pohangina School Reserve, Finnis Road, Pohangina Village ….a perfect day not to be missed!

Tickets $10 per adult, $2 per child or $20 per family (2 adults and 2 children) can be purchased in advance by calling Anne on 06 329 4714 or just send your payment (cheques made payable to “Pohangina School Reserve” please) and a self addressed envelope to “A Perfect Day”, 1293 Pohangina Road, RD14, Ashhurst.

Gate sales will be available on the day.

The Pohangina School Reserve Committee is a volunteer group which maintains the Reserve’s grounds, a swimming pool and an original 1910 school building. All proceeds of this event will be used to maintain the Reserve.
